How do I deal with anger and angry people?

Anger is a sin that destroys families, churches, friendships, partnerships, companies, political coalitions and nations. The anger of man never produces the righteousness of God (James 1.20). Christians are commanded to not be angry with anyone (Matthew 5.22), and if they fail they are not to let the sun go down on their anger (Ephesians 4.26). That means they are to ask forgiveness or give forgiveness to the one you are angry with before the workday ends. They are to go to the person(s) they are angry with and be reconciled with them (Matthew 5.23-24). Christians are to forgive those who sin against them 70 times 7 (Matthew 18.22). That is 490 times for the literalists or an unlimited number of times for mature Christians. Other commands to forgive those who offend us are found in Matthew 6.12, 14; Mark 11.25; Luke 17.3-4; Ephesians 4.32; Colossians 3.13.

"By being slow to anger a ruler is persuaded, and a soft answer shatters the bone" (Proverbs 16:22).
